A leading supplier of aggregate, construction, and landscaping materials, immediately opening for a qualified Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist is responsible for managing the collections process, ensuring timely payment of outstanding invoices, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to establish and maintain positive client relationships while enforcing payment terms.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging reports to ensure timely collections.
- Contact clients via phone, email, and letters to follow up on overdue payments.
- Negotiate payment plans and resolve disputes in a professional and timely manner.
- Reconcile customer accounts, addressing discrepancies and ensuring accurate records.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing issues and improve collection processes.
- Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and customer interactions in the accounting system.
- Generate regular reports on accounts receivable status and collection efforts for management review.
- Ensure compliance with fair credit practices and relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or a related financial role.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and basic accounting principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
