- Answer phone calls in a professional and cheerful manner using proper telephone etiquette.
- Communicate clearly, maintaining an appropriate speed and tone of voice.
- Identify the caller’s intent and respond or redirect appropriately.
- Take accurate and detailed messages while maintaining a positive and helpful attitude.
- Collaborate with other student workers to complete office projects and assigned tasks efficiently.
- Direct upset callers or visitors to the appropriate staff or department for resolution.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in challenging or stressful situations.
- Exercise good judgment when handling difficult or sensitive interactions.
- Utilize basic computer and IT skills to complete daily tasks.
- Navigate the university website and internal WAU portal to access or update necessary information.
- Demonstrate ownership and pride in work by completing tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proactively seek additional assignments and offer assistance to staff when time permits.
- Qualifications – Desirable:
High school graduate; preferably current college student, or a college graduate - Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):
Ability to grasp academic policies as outlined in the academic bulletin, typing, resourceful, and customer service. - Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable):
Excel spreadsheets, pie charts, customer service
