Job Description Summary
The Global Product Manager, Lab Automation will assist in managing the global Kiestra™ Laboratory Automation portfolio of products throughout its lifecycle, including strategy development, supply/demand & allocation strategies, product life‑cycle management, and Cost‑to‑Win initiatives.
In this role you will guide the innovative planning, development, and commercialization of our laboratory automation solutions, driving growth and market leadership in diagnostic and life‑science sectors by delivering automation technologies that improve efficiency and accuracy worldwide.
Key Responsibilities- Define and complete the global product strategy and roadmap for assigned lab automation platforms.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, and cross‑functional teams to translate market requirements into detailed product specifications and drive successful new product introductions (NPIs).
- Conduct comprehensive market research, customer segmentation, and competitive analysis to uncover opportunities and threats.
- Build comprehensive arguments for new product initiatives, including financial projections, ROI analysis, and risk assessments to secure investment and prioritization.
- Forge and maintain positive relationships across R&D, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Quality, Sales, Marketing, and Service teams.
- Act as BD’s subject‑matter expert in lab automation at industry conferences, customer meetings, and internal forums, articulating product value and strategic vision.
- Monitor product outcomes, market developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for portfolio refinement, improvements, and rationalizations.
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least 5 years of progressive product‑management experience.
- Demonstrated experience with laboratory automation, robotics, or complex instrumentation.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and managing global products.
- Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, diagnostic testing, or drug‑discovery processes.
- Proficiency in market‑analysis tools and financial modeling.
- Exceptional critical‑thinking and analytical capabilities with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing diverse audiences at all organization levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
- Results‑oriented with strong business acumen and customer focus.
- Willingness to travel globally up to 20% of the time.
- MBA or advanced degree.
- Experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or diagnostics industry.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, CE‑IVD) for medical devices or diagnostics.
