Extended Care Staff - Father Andrew White School

Father Andrew White School is hiring Extended Care Staff for the current school year. The role covers after-school hours from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, with occasional earlier start times due to early dismissal (12:30 pm to 5:30 pm). The successful candidate will report to the Principal.

• Supervise a group of up to 50 children aged 4‑12, ensuring safety and engagement through structured and unstructured activities.
• Plan and implement daily activities including arts and crafts, physical activities, and games, ensuring they are age‑appropriate and promote teamwork and critical thinking.
• Provide homework support and create a quiet environment for academic enrichment.
• Maintain clear communication with children, parents, and staff; provide feedback to parents on progress or behavior when necessary.
• Manage behavior using positive reinforcement, enforce program rules, and address disciplinary issues calmly and effectively.
• Ensure all children are accounted for, take attendance, and handle pick‑ups with parent sign‑out. Maintain accurate counts for transitions.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including emergency procedures; administer first aid when needed and report incidents.
• Work collaboratively with other caregivers, inform the Director of absences, find substitutes, and participate in staff meetings and training.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, moving, lifting up to 25 lbs alone (50 lbs with assistance). Be ready to respond quickly to emergencies.

• After‑school hours, typically 2:30–5:30 pm; occasional early start (12:30–5:30 pm).
• Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

This position pays $20 per hour.
