About the Role- Act as commercial lead on a large project through PCSA and construction stage.
- Experience of working with NEC forms of contract is required.
- Experience of providing commercial support during PCSA stage is preferable.
- Manage and mentor a team of junior commercial staff and allocate tasks.
- Responsible for monthly CVR reporting.
- Manage the change control process and pricing and agree compensation events.
- Contribute to achieving the appropriate commercial result through accurate financial reporting.
- Manage subcontractor supplier accounts, both financially and contractually, securing full entitlements under the contract.
- Ensure effective customer relationships through high customer service and onsite delivery; support the site team on contract requirements.
- Identify, secure, and deliver the business forecast in turnover and margin.
- Monitor subcontractors against programme.
- Ensure application of payment and invoices, submitting within terms and WIP and cash targets.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements; monitor internal expenditure against budget and maximise efficiency of reporting techniques/systems.
- Seek opportunities to maximise value and minimise costs in line with Morgan Sindall values.
- Operate the systems that provide necessary information to manage the contract.
- Ensure exceptional customer service achieving perfect delivery on all projects.
- Support and coach team members on commercial and contractual awareness.
- Liaise with customer, customer representatives and third parties on commercial issues, variations, claims and additional payments.
- Financially close projects ensuring all costs and value are allocated correctly in line with financial timetable.
- Educated to BSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
- Holding or working towards a professional membership (e.g., RICS, CIOB).
- Relevant CSCS card.
- Experience in main contracting market working on projects of £5 m‑£50 m across healthcare, education, residential, leisure, defence and commercial sectors.
