Construction Materials Field Technician

ECS Group of Companies invites applications for a Construction Materials Field Technician in Baltimore, MD. No prior experience is needed; training and certification support are provided.

Responsibilities

• Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete on construction materials testing project sites.
• Execute tasks based on project requirements under guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
• Perform routine field and laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete following industry standards.
• Collect and calculate data from sampling and tests; assist with drafting and administrative duties as needed.
• Maintain daily communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers; report changing site conditions.
• Assist with organization of field equipment and notify supervisors of equipment issues.
• Receive training in ECS methodology and document findings in engineering practice.

• Opportunities for certification (OSHA 10, ACI, ASNT, AWS, ICC, NICET, NRCA, etc.) as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• No experience required.
• Able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Willingness to learn heavy construction safety and CMT principles, including ASTM standards.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.

Pay

Expected pay range: $18–$19 per hour, based on location and qualifications.
