Call for Investigative Story Pitches: COVID-19 Reality Check Project
Join the Call for investigative story pitches role at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ). WSCIJ invites Nigerian journalists from all media genres interested in investigating the intersection between COVID‑19, access to information, and misinformation to submit story pitches for consideration.
The call is part of WSCIJ’s ‘Free to Share’ initiative, aimed at broadening freedom of expression through media ethics and accountability journalism. This pilot is implemented in partnership with Free Press Unlimited (FPU) under the ‘COVID‑19 response in Africa:
Together for reliable information’ project, funded by the European Union (EU).
Selected reporters will receive virtual training and mentorship to deliver data‑driven, human‑interest investigative stories that support media in providing accurate information, educating audiences, and debunking misinformation about the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on lives and livelihoods.
Key Requirements- Journalists based in Nigeria, across all media sectors.
- Interest in investigating the intersection of COVID‑19, information access, and misinformation.
- Availability to attend all training sessions and to participate in mentorship.
