Job Title: Dental Assistant

Reports To: Center Manager
Prepare the patient for treatment, assist the dentist with procedures, and handle pre‑ and post‑treatment responsibilities. Duties include taking X‑rays, preparing materials and equipment, assisting in laboratory work, scheduling appointments, answering the phone, and ordering supplies.
Essential Functions- Prepare treatment room and patients by following procedures and protocols.
- Collect and record patient health histories and provide information to patients and staff.
- Sterilize instruments, supply and position them for the dentist, and assist with suction and passing instruments.
- Select, mix, and place materials on instruments and in the patient’s mouth.
- Expose, develop, and interpret radiographs; produce and polish study casts.
- Fabricate temporary restorations and clean removable appliances to maintain patient chewing function.
- Maintain CPR certification and manage emergency supplies and protocols.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene, plaque control, and post‑operative instructions.
- Chart dental care services and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Comply with safety and infection‑control procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform preventive maintenance of dental equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and coordinate repairs.
- Inventory and reorder dental supplies as needed.
- Use resources efficiently to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Ensure patient care and administrative processes comply with regulations and clinic policies.
- Support PSR functions and perform office duties when requested.
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly infection‑control and sterilization logs.
- Attend educational workshops and stay current with professional practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
- Certificate of completion from an accredited Dental Assisting Program.
- Active Dental Assistant License.
- Active Dental Radiation Technologist License.

Outpatient office setting with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and high‑stress situations.
Physical and Mental Demands- Manage stress and move about office occasionally.
- Operate computers, calculators, copy machines, and printers.
- Communicate with patients and employees, providing accurate information.
- Lift or catch patients weighing more than 50 pounds if necessary.
- Handle frequent interruptions and adjust priorities quickly.
- Recognize social cues and communicate effectively.
Read, interpret, and write written and verbal documents; speak effectively to patients and staff.
TravelMust be able to drive between Greater Baden Medical Services locations as required.
ComplianceAdhere to Greater Baden Medical Services compliance standards, including Standards of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures.
