JOB SUMMARY:
The Cost Analyst will support the Production team by developing accurate, data-driven cost estimates for current and future products. This role partners closely with Procurement, Production, and Business Development to support pricing decisions, evaluate actual performance against projections, and identify opportunities for meaningful cost improvements.
As the company continues to scale, this position becomes critical in ensuring our aircraft and related systems are priced appropriately, production efficiency is accurately measured, and long-term cost-reduction strategies are supported through solid analytics.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:- Develop cost estimates for future products, components, and assemblies.
- Collaborate with Procurement on material pricing, vendor quotes, and cost drivers.
- Partner with Production and BD to support price estimates for new products, proposals, and scaling efforts.
- Maintain and refine cost models to ensure accuracy and consistency across teams.
- Compare actual production costs against estimates to measure performance.
- Prepare and present reports that clearly communicate cost performance to Production leadership.
- Monitor labor, materials, and overhead costs to ensure alignment with expectations.
- Analyze material usage, and procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Make recommendations on process or material changes that reduce the cost of aircraft and components while maintaining quality.
- Support cross-functional teams in implementing cost-improvement initiatives.
- Track and measure results of cost-reduction activities.
- Provide financial insights during product development, manufacturing planning, and scaling efforts.
- Assist with building standardized costing tools, dashboards, and reporting structures.
- Perform other duties as necessary and/or required.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field and 2-5 years of experience in cost analysis, financial analysis, production analytics, or manufacturing operations
- Strong Excel/data analysis skills
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint
- Experience building cost models, forecasting, or budgeting
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Manufacturing, aerospace, or hardware production experience
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, bills of materials, and production workflows
- Ability to traverse manufacturing facility.
