Para educator Level I – Wilson Wims Elementary School, Clarksburg
Part-time, 6 hrs / 10 months, Day Shift
At the direction of the principal, this para educator performs a variety of tasks that promote student learning and well‑being to support students who are diploma‑bound. The para educator work focuses on facilitating student mastery of grade‑level or above curriculum. The position supports general‑education classrooms and may provide individualized or small‑group instruction. Additionally, the role includes instructional, classroom‑management, and clerical support for teachers and staff.
New para educators begin at Grade 13 and may advance to Grade 14 after a six‑month probationary period and required training hours.
- Wage range: $23.61 – $34.82 per hour, based on years of service.

- Associate’s degree (required);
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - College coursework: minimum nine credit‑hours related to behavior management, instructional strategies, or education field.
- Preferred: one year of experience working with students in structured educational settings; required: two to four years of experience with children in structured settings such as a daycare, preschool, etc.
- At least 48 college credits and two years of experience in structured settings (daycare, preschool, adult day program, after‑school program, or extended day).
- Two years of experience in structured settings such as a daycare, preschool, or extended day.
- Successful completion of the Para Pro Assessment with a qualifying score of 455 or higher is required.

None.
Special Requirements
Physical demands: frequent bending, walking, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds may be required. Special requirements: outside duty may be required. Ability to accommodate flexible scheduling and change of location as needed. Continues planned instructional activities during teacher’s temporary absence.
