Alumni Coordinator & Communications Assistant

Waverley Christian College is a forward-thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12. We have been providing students with a quality Christian educational experience for over 45 years. With campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South, Waverley Christian College has an enrolment of 2400 students with 400 staff across both campuses in 2025.

As Communications Assistant and Alumni Coordinator, you will play a vital role in keeping parents, alumni, and current students engaged with the College. Our ideal candidate will bring strong experience in communications, event management, and digital marketing, preferably within an educational institution.

Key responsibilities:

  • Production of various regular communications and publications.
  • Posting on and monitoring social media platforms.
  • Overseeing fortnightly newsletters (campus news).
  • Coordinating all aspects of the College alumni program (including alumni events).
  • The College is flexible regarding role distribution and campus allocation, and therefore the role can be offered in the following ways:

    • One candidate working 4 days per week, supporting both College campuses.
    • Two candidates, each working 2 days per week based at one of our campuses. One day as Alumni Coordinator and one day as Communications Assistant.
    • A Communications Assistant working one day per week at each campus, or an Alumni Coordinator working a day per week at each campus.

    You are an ideal candidate if you:

    • Have skills and experience in desktop publishing such as Canva and Adobe suite (highly desirable).
    • Have strong communications and social media skills across Facebook, Google advertising, Instagram, Whats App, Messenger, and ideally Tik Tok as well (the latter is optional).
    • Have proven event and project management skills.
    • Are highly organised, proactive, and efficient.
    • Have high-level communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Have good administrative and Microsoft Office 365 skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Enjoy working in a team environment.
    • Have a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
    • Are willing to get involved in all aspects of the College’s programs and opportunities.
