Preschool Lead Teacher

Job description

Creates a fun, safe, and developmentally enriching classroom where children build cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. Leads daily planning, teaching, and classroom management while guiding assistant teachers or aides. Build strong partnerships with families and ensure all classroom needs and concerns are addressed with care.

• Ensures the daily health, safety, and emotional well-being of all children.
• Implement all policies, licensing regulations, and safety procedures.
• Plans and leads engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that promote curiosity and exploration.
• Supervises and supports children during all classroom and outdoor activities, including meals and transitions. Must conduct Name to Face process at each transition
• Maintains a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment.
• Completes required documentation such as attendance, daily reports, and incident forms.
• Communicates regularly with families and conducts parent-teacher conferences.
• Collaborates with and directs classroom support staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Attend staff meetings, school events, and professional development as required.
• Ensure classroom materials and equipment are properly used and maintained.
• Assists with staffing coverage when needed to support classroom and Academy operations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Academy.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. consistently throughout the workday.

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood field is preferred
• Must meet all requirements stipulated by the Maryland State to Qualify as a Lead Teacher
• Classroom teaching experience in an accredited Early Childhood Facility is must
