We are looking for an experienced service tech to join our team in our DMV market.
Job Description Summary
This role assesses technical issues with solar systems, replaces faulty equipment, works with manufacturers to troubleshoot equipment, orders standard parts, and records and uploads findings on service software. Acts as a technical specialist within own area and may serve as a team leader but does not supervise.
Core Responsibilities- Assessing and identifying technical issues with solar equipment, and implementing troubleshooting protocols
- Replacing faulty equipment and commissioning to system
- Notifying homeowners of on‑site arrival and providing information on service findings and advising of the next steps to resolve
- Calling the manufacturer technical support hotline and troubleshooting on‑site equipment
- Placing orders for standard parts as needed
- Initiating and referencing claim numbers to troubleshoot and push through warranty approval
- Documenting service activities and maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs
- Assisting in processing shipping labels for returned equipment
- Informing managers of work completion and any other necessary updates on system issues
- Stocking company work truck with necessary tools and parts that may be needed on‑site
- Maintaining regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedules, and overtime as necessary
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Must have residential solar installation and electrical experience*
