Senior Structural Engineer

Senior Structural Engineer (10‑15 Years) – hybrid work schedule in Fulton, MD or Duluth, GA. Candidates must be a United States Citizen or Green Card Holder, hold an active Professional Engineer (PE) license, and have proven experience in business development.

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with ten to fifteen years of experience for our client’s D.C. Metro or Duluth, GA offices. The ideal candidate will be a self‑motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. The successful individual will work closely with our business development team and other discipline leaders to develop technical proposals and take a proactive role in marketing and business development.

This role provides an opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multi‑discipline office. The candidate will work directly with clients providing consulting services.

• Perform the following functions:
• Structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial & industrial projects.
• Design of steel, concrete, and masonry commercial/institutional, federal and industrial buildings, both in new and existing construction.
• Design experience with light gauge steel and timber is a plus.
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Manage project team for budget and schedule control.
• Develop fee and qualification‑based proposals.
• Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well‑coordinated and high‑quality set of structural drawings.
• Able to multi‑task and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
• Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
• Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint software preferred. Must understand database concepts. Working knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resources files.
• Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
• Ability to travel.
• Work closely with other client offices, such as Raleigh and Atlanta structural groups, to complete projects and tasks.

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program required.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE).
• 10 to 15 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience with computer software programs and analysis systems (such as RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, RAMSS, ETABS, ENERCALC).
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and time‑management skills.
• Project Management experience and/or certifications.
• Desire to lead inter‑disciplinary projects and project teams.
• Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus.
• Active local industry involvement is a plus.
• Approximate Base Salary of $100,000‑$150,000 based on experience. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and relevant experience.
• Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
