DescriptionAre you interested in using cutting edge models to simulate complex mission modeling in hostile environments? Do you want to become an expert in hypersonic and reentry system design and prototyping? Do you want to make contributions that accelerate the readiness of our Nation’s defenses to support next generation hypersonic and reentry systems? If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team are seeking an Engagement Modeling Engineer to help us enhance and apply modeling & simulation tools for state‑of‑the‑art strategic systems.
As a member of our team, you’ll be making critical contributions to develop these next generation systems and maintain the strategic advantage of our Nation. You will be joining a collaborative and complementary teams of engineers who work together to provide impactful solutions to system level objectives and challenges. - Simulate mission level engagement scenarios using tools such as AFSIM
- Model emerging threats using the latest technologies and models available
- Develop and enhance models and simulations to enable next generation strategic systems to survive hostile environments
- Help optimize software to take full advantage of modern hardware
- Own and maintain various software that model complex flight systems
- Produce analyses and presentations to communicate findings to team members, external organization partners, and government sponsors
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- Have 5+ years of relevant experience
- Have experience working with or developing modeling and simulation tools using numerical methods
- Have experience with C/C++, Python, MATLAB, and/or other high performance scientific languages
- Are proficient in standard software engineering practices including version control (e.g. git)
- Are able to obtain a Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
- Have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- Have experience with engagement modeling software such as AFSIM, including writing plugins and extensions
- Have some experience with threat and/or engagement scenario modeling and simulation
- Have experience with HPC or GPGPU programming
- Are familiar with radar signature/RCS modeling and simulation
- Are familiar with EO/IR modeling and simulation
- Have experience binding lower level languages (C/C++) to higher level languages (MATLAB/Python)
- Hold an active Secret or higher level clearance
