Design Technician I – Electric Utility Projects
About the Role: Are you ready to take the next step in your career? ENTRUST Solutions Group is seeking an entry-level Design Technician I to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will contribute to the design of overhead and underground electrical utility projects, gaining hands‑on experience in the field of electrical engineering.
This role is fully remote; however, occasional travel may be required to support client meetings, site visits, or project needs.
Key Responsibilities- Design electrical systems for overhead and underground utility projects, including creating detailed construction drawings and accurate bills of materials.
- Provide supporting documentation such as pole force loading calculations, voltage drop calculations, and permitting requirements as needed.
- Support pre-construction activities, answering questions related to the job site and design.
- Entry-level experience (0-3 years) in a design engineering role.
- Familiarity with electrical distribution systems and concepts is a plus
. - Proficiency in drafting/design software (e.g.,
AutoCAD
, Micro Station, etc.) and Microsoft Office. - Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- A strong desire to learn and grow in a technical environment.
- Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools is a plus.
- Motivated, proactive, and eager to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with electrical distribution systems and concepts is a plus
- Associate's degree in technical related field is preferred
