Traffic Engineering Specialist

STV's Maryland Transportation team is seeking a motivated Traffic Engineering Specialist to support traffic and roadway design projects across Maryland and the broader Mid-Atlantic region. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team of engineers focused on improving transportation networks through innovative and data‑driven solutions. You'll work alongside experienced professionals while also mentoring peers, helping public agencies deliver safer, more efficient, and multimodal transportation systems.

• Conduct traffic operational analysis for roadway and intersection improvements.
• Perform transportation safety and data analysis.
• Support design and evaluation of pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
• Assist with traffic signal coordination and timing.
• Develop design concepts using AutoCAD and/or Micro Station, depending on client needs.
• Collaborate with planners, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 2+ years of relevant traffic/transportation engineering experience.
• Familiarity with traffic analysis software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, or similar).
• Working knowledge of Micro Station and/or AutoCAD.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.

• Exposure to VISSIM, Synchro, and HCS.
• Experience with Maryland DOT, local county agencies, or Mid-Atlantic transportation projects.
• Interest in multimodal design and complete streets principles.

Compensation Range: $61,760.55 - $82,347.40
