Full Job Description
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing structural analysis and design for transportation structures such as bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, and pipes.
- Preparing engineering calculations and developing design drawings.
- Conducting fieldwork, including site visits and bridge inspections (based on NBIS), building inspections, and preparing inspection reports.
- Conducting load ratings for bridges and culverts.
- Reviewing drawings and reports to develop design options, repair recommendations, and cost estimates.
- Confirming work complies with AASHTO, MDOT SHA, and project-specific standards and requirements.
CORE REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
- 4-7 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in steel and concrete design.
- A Maryland EIT.
- Proficiency in using Micro Station and AutoCAD for bridge projects.
- Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD code requirements.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- A Maryland PE.
- A master's degree in civil engineering with a focus in structural engineering.
