Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight and direction for day-to-day compliance with applicable air, hazardous waste, wastewater, and storm water permits, plans, regulations, etc.
  • Interpret environmental laws and permit requirements, stay current with regulatory changes, and analyze options for compliance with new regulations.
  • Coordinate reporting and record keeping activities for facility permits and other environmental regulatory reporting requirements and corporate sustainability data tracking.
  • Provide guidance for permitting and implementation of environmental regulations on new or developing projects.
  • Update and deliver environmental training programs to ensure compliance with regulations and permits.
  • Interface with environmental regulatory agencies, corporate environmental health & safety leadership, lead inspections and audits.
  • Maintain and update the Hazardous Waste Management program.
  • Develop and conduct periodic environmental audits and assessments, document findings, and assist plant leadership in resolving discrepancies.
  • Lead plant in designing or improving processes that minimize environmental hazards and reduce waste as a primary objective.
  • Lead ISO-14001 sustaining program.
  • Evaluate risks & incidents and identify areas where costs and loss can be improved.
  • Develop environmental training materials and conduct training where subject‑matter expertise is needed.
  • Implement processes to comply with the obligations of permits, plans, and regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Chemical or Bio‑systems Engineering, or a related field OR 5 years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience managing environmental compliance including reporting, record keeping, and environmental permitting.
Salary

$63,900.00 – $ USD Annual

At BD, we prioritize on‑site collaboration. For most roles, a minimum of 4 days of in‑office presence per week is required, while remote or field‑based positions may have alternative arrangements. BD requires full COVID‑19 vaccination proof for employment in certain roles.
