Clearance Requirement: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; Ability to obtain and maintain an HSPD-12 Clearance.
License/Certification Requirement: Journeyman License is required.
Responsibilities- Responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the facility are operating at peak efficiency. This includes planned preventative maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency response. Act as a singular focal point for all facility operations and support. Facility equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.
- Render assistance in administration and regulation of junior technicians and provide oversight of contractors’ electrical duties.
- Analyze system requirements, research equipment and procedures, and recommend modifications to new and existing systems. Install new units or replacement parts according to specifications and safety guidelines, relying on MOPs, manufacturer literature, and industry best practices.
- Utilize safe working practices; apply lockout/tagout, MSDS, maintain good housekeeping, and use administrative software as needed.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and modify malfunctioning electronic units, including PCBs, sensing mechanisms, and advanced electrical circuits.
- Perform maintenance, installations, and service repairs on critical data center systems and all industrial electrical equipment and systems (power distribution, electronics, lighting) to ensure efficient operation. Use appropriate test equipment (e.g., infrared scanning, vibration analysis) to diagnose issues. Log activities in CMMS.
- Conduct daily facility walk-throughs documenting power availability, temperature/humidity, and alarm status; monitor and adjust site BAS per SOPs/MOPs.
- Manage mechanical and electrical systems in emergencies, including HVAC components, power distribution, generators, UPS, DC power, and fire and life safety systems.
- Identify required materials and parts; prepare cost estimates for procurement.
- Maintain relationships with major vendor accounts and oversee critical environment vendors during maintenance, emergency, and break/fix events to ensure safety and power to critical loads.
- Set up and operate electrical data capture devices (e.g., Dranetz, Fluke PQA).
- Create and update MOPs/SOPs; conduct periodic technical and quality reviews to ensure current best practices and safety guidelines.
- Collect and generate internal and vendor field service reports; review reports prior to submission to end users.
- Develop reliability reports to identify opportunities for increased efficiency or reduced downtime.
- Conduct training with junior technicians and other staff on electrical equipment/system maintenance and operation.
- Users must be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; ability to obtain and maintain an HSPD-12 Clearance.
- High school diploma with a minimum of 4+ years of experience in the trade.
- Journeyman license is required.
