JOB TITLE:
UAV PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN (UAVTIII)
DEPARTMENT: UAV PRODUCTION
REPORTS TO:
UAV PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT
STATUS: FULL-TIME
JOB SUMMARY:
With little to no supervision, the UAV Production Technician III will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and assembly of all aircraft and related equipment. Integrate multiple payload configurations, perform modifications, and program aircraft systems and subsystems. Perform preventive maintenance, and repair of infrastructure equipment and associated electrical/ mechanical ground components.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES- Lead the assembly of complex UAV builds, including avionics integration, propulsion systems, and structural assembly.
- Test, and integrate electromechanical components and subassemblies based on provided blueprints and drawings.
- Act as a subject matter expert on UAV build processes, tools, and quality control standards.
- Align, fit, and join component parts accurately, utilizing precision tools, calibrated hand tools and power tools.
- Maintain and troubleshoot aircraft systems and subsystems
- Perform maintenance, repair, and modifications of aircraft structures and components.
- Coordinate with supervisor for prototype builds, revisions, and design feedback.
- Unmanned aviation ground handling
- Maintain equipment used to support aircraft mission efforts
- Comply with production procedures and maintenance manual
- Lead training for new hires and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Recurring FOD training and awareness, upon hire and annually
- Perform other duties as are necessary and/or required
- High school diploma or equivalent required and 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Experience in defense and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance
- Valid driver's license
- Strong ability to perform routine and preventative maintenance for aircraft systems/subsystems, and ground support equipment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems, avionics, and UAV assembly practices.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, collaborating with engineers, pilots, and project managers to deliver reliable and effective UAV solutions
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced working environment.
- Recurring FOD training and awareness, upon hire and annually
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and using measurement tools.
- Must be able to obtain a DOT physical and haul trailers to and from offsite locations
- Technical training strongly preferred.
- Composite, structural, and/or mechanical repair experience
- Familiar with military aviation operations
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times, more with assistance.
- Work environment consists of various office and manufacturing settings with may have exposure to noise, varying temperatures, smells, and chemicals.
- Ability to traverse manufacturing facility.
