The Mechanical Engineer position will support product and manufacturing development and troubleshooting and requires knowledge of engineering and design principles and CAD experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assist with meeting Strata’s objectives related to mechanical engineering and product design and drafting requirements.
- Maintain and develop company electronic drawing files and generate, modify and maintain Auto Desk Inventor and AutoCAD files.
- Interact with U.S. development teams including Pillar Innovations and other associated firms as well as international team members upon request.
- Support general project engineering, mechanical engineering and design duties.
- Perform structural analysis and design.
- Conduct product design, evaluation, and sourcing and evaluation of components.
- Design and develop new products, create and manipulate complex spreadsheets.
- Research and evaluate relevant governmental regulations.
- Professionally interact with customers, vendors and regulators, evaluate existing products and systems, and produce written reports and recommendations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
A. Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- CAD knowledge/skills.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Good understanding of electrical theory and practical applications is desirable.

- Apply basic engineering process concepts to work assignments.
- Possess CAD knowledge/skills and strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Identify problems, their sources and potential solutions.
- Take initiative and persist to completion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with active listening.
- Excellent planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Location
:
Grantsville, Maryland, with travel to various locations.
Travel Requirements
:
Moderate, sporadic travel; occasional international travel may be required.
