Base pay range$85,000.00/yr - $/yr
As An Associate Biomaterials Scientist/Engineer Biologist You Will- Drive experimental execution across projects involving encapsulation and other types of advanced biomaterials production.
- Support study execution and data analysis.
- Assist and collaborate with scientists in support of laboratory-based experimentation.
- Troubleshoot and optimize experimental protocols.
- Assist with basic laboratory functions (i.e. lab cleanliness and organization, equipment upkeep, etc.).
- Communicate key findings both internally across teams and externally to sponsors.
- Participate in the biology and APL community, and present data at lab meetings and to department management.
- Bachelors ' of Science in Biology, Chemistry, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or related field with 1+ years of relevant experience. Please note that candidates with Ph.D.s are not eligible for associate-level positions and should apply to senior level positions.
- Extensive experience incorporating living systems into materials.
- Experience with hydrogels and/or polymeric materials.
- Demonstrated ability to perform molecular assays.
- Broad cell culture experience.
- Have strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to lead and contribute to teams from any position.
- Are able to obtain an Interim Secret clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelors ' of Science in Biology, Chemistry, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or related field with one to six years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated abilities to develop nanomaterials to support advanced synthetic biology applications in microbial, mammalian, or plant systems.
- Extensive mammalian cell-culture experience.
- Tissue engineering and scaffolds experience.
- In vitro model experience.
- Extensive imaging expertise, including confocal microscopy/SEM/CT.
- Experience producing biological materials.
- Chemical synthesis experience.
- Experience with characterization of materials using rheology, dynamic light scattering/electrophoretic light scattering, and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA).
