Job DescriptionSenior Civil Engineer - DC Metro Office (Full‑time)
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer with 10‑15 years of industry experience to lead technical proposals, marketing/business development, and on‑site consulting for a variety of projects. The candidate will help build and mentor a team of engineering professionals in a collaborative, multidiscipline office.
Key Responsibilities- Perform civil analysis, design, and detailing on diverse projects.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, oversee budgets and schedules.
- Lead design team efforts and coordinate with architects, owners, and contractors.
- Develop fee‑and‑qualification‑based proposals and conduct marketing/business development activities.
- Prepare technical reports, studies, and permitting applications.
- Travel as needed and act as a positive contributor to office culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering.
- 10–15 years of applicable experience in consulting services involving site grading, earthwork, drainage, erosion and sediment control, utilities, and stormwater modeling.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydro CAD, Storm CAD, SWWM, and other civil design software.
- Strong technical skills in hydrologic/hydraulic calculations, mapping, and construction documents.
- Excellent communication, organization, and critical‑thinking abilities.
- Experience with marketing databases, proposal tools, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Local AHJ experience and relationships in the DC, MD, and VA areas is a plus.
- Base salary: $100,000–$150,000, based on qualifications and experience.
- Paid overtime at 1.0× hourly rate.
