Senior Civil Engineer - Water & Sanitation Infrastructure

About the Role Our client, a leading infrastructure development firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to spearhead critical water and sanitation projects in Queenstown, Eastern Cape
. This role is pivotal in addressing the region's infrastructure needs, focusing on the design, construction, and rehabilitation of water supply systems, wastewater treatment plants, and associated networks. You will be responsible for leading project teams, ensuring technical excellence, and managing project delivery in alignment with client requirements and regulatory standards. • Lead the design and development of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Manage all phases of project execution, from conceptualization and feasibility studies to detailed design and construction supervision.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Conduct technical reviews and provide engineering oversight for design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Mentor and guide junior engineering staff, promoting technical development and best practices.
• Oversee site investigations, including topographical surveys, geotechnical investigations, and environmental impact assessments.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant South African standards, codes of practice, and environmental regulations.
• Develop and manage project risk mitigation strategies.
• Prepare comprehensive project reports, progress updates, and final documentation.

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr.Eng is essential.
• A minimum of 9 years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on water and sanitation infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex municipal water and wastewater projects.
• In-depth knowledge of water treatment processes, distribution systems, sewer networks, and wastewater treatment technologies.
• Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, EPANET, WaterCAD).
• Strong understanding of project management principles and contract administration.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.
• Must be willing to be based in Queenstown, Eastern Cape
