As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you may look forward to:

Providing service to applicants and prospective customers seeking a home loan, including interviewing, pre-qualification, and pre-approval.

Completing applications and gathering supporting documentation.

Reviewing and completing regulatory disclosures with customers.

Maintaining existing and generating new sources of referral business.

Quoting interest rates and securing pricing through the Secondary Marketing Department on behalf of the customer.

Collecting required application fees.

Inputting application data into Loan Origination Software (LOS).

Utilizing automated underwriting systems (AUS) to obtain credit recommendations.

Communicating with customers, both internal and external, regarding the loan status and relaying information to all interested parties.

Managing your pipeline of loans to verify accuracy of the current loan status.

Adhering to Towne Bank Mortgage Policies and Procedures.

Mentoring other Loan Officers.

Reporting industry changes or trends to Senior Management.

Participating in Towne Bank, Towne Bank Mortgage, and area association events.

If in joint ventures, actively participating in sales meetings and office functions.

Preparing Mortgage Minutes for sales meetings.

Providing ongoing training for real estate agents (lunch and learns).

Collaborating closely with the Broker/Sales Manager.

Attending Loan Officer Meetings.

Representing the bank in community outreach to enhance image and develop new business.

Obeying all applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations relating to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

You are a person with the following required skills:

Having a valid NMLS number.

At least 1-year experience originating VA, FHA, Conventional, and VHDA loans.

A proven sales record based on closed loan production.

Existing sources of referral business for purchase transactions.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Awareness of FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, VA, and VHDA underwriting guidelines.

Desired skills include:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Working knowledge of Encompass software.

Physical requirements:

Expressing or exchanging ideas via email and verbally.

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, using arms and legs, and sitting most of the time.

Having close visual acuity for analyzing data, viewing a computer, reading, and preparing documentation.

Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
