Mental Health Therapist – Virtual

Reports To:
Director of Mental and Behavioral Health Services
- Provide direct patient mental health treatment including intake, assessment and counseling/therapy for patients referred by other providers, schools, health and human service agencies, or individuals.
- Collaborate with the psychiatrist to develop care plans and monitor patients who are on medications. This position is not supervisory.
- Review mental health referrals for appropriateness to the program.
- Complete initial evaluation and develop treatment plans as appropriate.
- Submit information to state agencies as appropriate.
- Provide individual and/or group therapy as appropriate to patients’ needs.
- Maintain adequate records of therapeutic treatment plans, sessions, and other contacts with patients and providers.
- Coordinate referrals to the psychiatrist and assist with patient care needs.
- Conduct case management activities as necessary for clients.
- Interact with medical providers as needed for optimal patient care.
- Complete encounter forms in a timely fashion.
- Comply with Joint Commission standards for ambulatory care.
- Interact with other agencies and community members as appropriate.
- Submit information needed for credentialing files in a timely manner.
- Participate in team/staff meetings and applicable workshops; attend required meetings at Greater Baden.
- Licensed as a trained professional to provide mental health services.
- Board Certified LCSW
- 1+ years of experience providing individual therapy.
- Experience with medically underserved or special populations preferred.
- Experience in adolescent counseling and therapy is a plus.
- Professional maturity, flexibility, and independence to work in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Desire to work with medically underserved populations.
- Proficient in Windows Microsoft Office Suite at a minimum.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus, but not required.
- Internal:
Superior customer service skills; tact in interactions with patients, families, and visitors. - Works in a team environment with other clinical staff.
- External:
Excellent verbal communication when answering and returning telephone calls.
- Position is virtual with potential for hybrid hours in the future depending on telehealth guidance and policies.
- Assignments to particular sites, schedules, and hours can be changed with reasonable notice.
- Prolonged sitting for patient encounters.
- Occasional bending, stooping and stretching.
- Required eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
- Normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate in writing, in person and by phone.
Ability to read and interpret written or verbal documents and instructions. Ability to speak effectively to patients, employees and stakeholders of the organization.
ComplianceThis position requires compliance with Greater Baden Medical Services (Health Center’s) compliance standards, including its Standards of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be considered as part of performance evaluation.
TravelPosition is virtual; limited situations may require driving to Greater Baden Medical Services, Inc. locations.
