Position Overview
The Group Facilitator-Coach is responsible for the delivery of psychoeducation and specialty groups in accordance with the RCA Care Model. The curriculum and training will be provided for the facilitator to ensure quality and consistency in its delivery. The Group Facilitator-Coach must provide and support patient skills through coaching. Promoting sustained engagement in treatment is a primary focus of this role.
The Group Facilitator-Coach also supports the RSS team when operational or administrative needs arise (ex: rounding, safety searches, belongings searches, and general milieu management). The facilitator will also attend staff meetings and trainings as assigned. The facilitator will be responsible for 15-20 1-hour groups per week and receive A&D trainee supervision.
Group Facilitator-Coach will be measured by the following Key Performance Indicators: AA rate Group Attendance Measurement based outcomes as directed.
Specific Responsibilities- Ensure that groups are delivered professionally and effectively to meet desired learning objectives.
- Carry out RCA Care Model with fidelity.
- Ensure group attendance.
- Escalate concerns to treatment team to promote patient safety and engagement.
- Receive 1 hour of supervision and training as needed, in alignment with A&D Trainee status.
- Engage with the recovery community in a culturally competent way, both in and outside the group setting.
- Complete group notes and all other documentation as assigned.
- Attend trainings and acquire skills needed to support evidence-based models.
- Complete cross training for RSS role and support RSS needs as they arise or as directed.
- Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree, or minimum State Requirements for education.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferably in a residential setting.
- Mental Health Credentials:
Maryland CAC‑AD and CAC approved Supervisors License or Maryland A&D Trainee Status. - Experience working in group facilitation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Customer Service: Demonstrates concern for meeting internal and external customers’ needs in a manner that provides satisfaction within available resources.
- Impact and Influence: Works effectively with and through others including those with no formal authority.
- Project Management: Coordinates the diverse components of the project by balancing scope, time, cost, and quality.
- Communication: Communicates well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information and ideas with others, and has good listening skills.
- Work Environment: May work in a variety of environments including professional offices, clinics, hospitals, or out-patient facilities. They spend much of their time on their feet, actively working with patients.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out‑of‑area and overnight travel may be expected.
