Human Resources Generalist with Security Clearance
JOB TITLE:
HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST
DEPARTMENT: HUMAN RESOURCES
REPORTS TO:
HRBP
CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The HR Generalist supports day‑to‑day HR operations across recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and employee administration.
- Support recruitment activities, including posting vacancies, coordinating offers, and assisting with recruitment‑related travel as needed.
- Coordinate and execute new hire onboarding, including schedules, welcome communications, orientation support, and ADP hiring workflows.
- Ensure hiring and onboarding compliance (I‑9, E‑Verify, background checks, drug testing, and required documentation).
- Maintain accurate personnel files and support HR record‑keeping and audit records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Conduct employment and professional reference verifications.
- Support benefits administration, payroll backup, and HR system reconciliation (ADP and vendor platforms).
- Assist with compliance efforts, including EEO, VETS‑4212, and FMLA reports, labor law postings, and health & safety initiatives.
- Maintain organizational chart, headcount reporting, and training records.
- Support employee engagement efforts, including the Employee Engagement Committee, and organization of events.
- Provide front desk and general HR administrative support as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED and 2‑5 years of professional HR experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Experience working with an HRIS system; ADP preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of HR functions and procedures (e.g., benefits, recruitment, training, and development).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Clear and professional communication, strong organizational and time‑management skills, and discretion with confidential information.
- Strong collaborative and service‑oriented approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- SHRM‑CP or HRCI PHR/SPHR certification in Human Resources Management.
