Position: 4067 Senior Network Engineer with Security Clearance
Location: Annapolis Junction

OVERVIEW:
We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Network Engineer (S-NET) supporting an Intelligence Community Customer. GENERAL DUTIES:
* Recommends best practices such as SDN, Intent-based networking, and network segmentation protocols, etc., in order to improve the existing architecture and meet new networking requirements.
* Designs telecommunications circuit specifications.
* Identifies the need for routers, switches, and encryption devices to support enterprise services.
* Delivers service catalog items for automatically provisioning network configurations to deliver Infrastructure-as
-Code.
* Develops and maintains network architecture specifications and artifacts.
* Designs and plans network communications systems.
* Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
* Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
* Conducts testing of network design.
* Monitors network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options.
* Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
* Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations.
* Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
* Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Requires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.
* 2 years of Cisco experience; proven expertise with Cisco network hardware including: routers, switches, firewalls, unified communications equipment.
* Information Assurance Certifications consistent with the 8570 IAT Level III.
* Proven experience in VMware environments.
* Proven experience in virtual and physical Internet Protocol and Fiber Channel networks and routing protocols.
* Proven experience designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting LAN, WAN and low bandwidth networks protected by network encryptors.
* Proficiency in Automation Tools (e.g., Ansible, Python, or similar).
* Expertise in Software-Defined Networking (SDN).
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation).
* Familiarity with Agile Methodologies for iterative network project management.
* Experience with Change Management Processes to ensure smooth network updates and configurations.
* Knowledge of DISN (Department of Defense Information Network) or CANES (Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services) systems.
* Proficiency in Visio or Similar Diagramming Tools for network design documentation. DESIRED
