Senior System Engineer – Freedom Technology Solutions Group, LLC

We are seeking a Senior System Engineer for one of our PRIME CONTRACTS that extends through 2026 and offers exciting opportunities to support essential services and mission‑critical activities across the enterprise. Our mission supports the Government Corporate Management Services (CMS) by providing full life‑cycle support services through the sustainment, modernization, and transformation of the enterprise corporate applications. These applications are used across the government enterprise and are critical to the daily functions of thousands of users across acquisition, business, finance, HR, training, recruitment, program management, security, logistics and more.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct process evaluations of the corporate enterprise applications to identify areas for improvement and optimization while ensuring adherence to enterprise process standards for development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, Government Product Leads and Leadership Teams to define, prioritise and implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and methodologies within the program and facilitate the adoption of agile and Dev Ops practices.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including process standards, program‐level templates and best practice guides.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and opportunities for optimisation within the application development lifecycle.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and issues in the systems and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to promote knowledge sharing and enhance the technical skills of team members.
  • Engage with Government Leadership, Product Leads and development teams to identify technical issues and provide guidance to coordinate effective solutions.
  • Participate in incident response and problem‑solving activities to address critical system issues and minimise downtime.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior system engineers and other team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices related to enterprise application development and support.
Qualifications
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and fourteen (14) years’ experience as an SE in programmes and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Nineteen (19) years’ SE experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Willingness to learn and develop a strong understanding of new technologies and products.
  • Experience developing and updating technical documentation including project schedules.
  • Experience with requirements management, including working with customers to capture a clear definition of done.
Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is between $200,000 and $265,000 (annualised USD). This range reflects the typical pay for the role and is one part of the company’s comprehensive compensation package. Actual salaries are influenced by factors such as location, the individual’s education, skills, experience and competencies, as well as contract affordability and organisational needs.
