Peraton is seeking a Web Designer in our Linthicum, MD office in support of our Department of Defense (DoD) customer as part of a highly talented, highly motivated, and high-performing team. The Web Designer is responsible for creating visually appealing, user-friendly, and accessible web designs for websites, web applications, SharePoint, social media, and other digital interfaces. This role requires a strong understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles, graphic design, and web technologies.

The successful candidate will be a creative and collaborative individual with a passion for creating intuitive and engaging online experiences that meet the specific needs of DoW/AF personnel and the public. This position works closely with developers, content creators, and stakeholders to ensure the design aligns with project requirements and DoW/AF standards. Responsibilities:
Design & Development:
Design and develop visually appealing and user-friendly website and web application interfaces, adhering to established style guides and branding guidelines. Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas and user flows. Develop user interface (UI) elements and components that are consistent across different platforms and devices. Translate user needs and business requirements into intuitive and functional designs. Ensure designs are responsive and optimized for various screen sizes (desktop, tablet, mobile).

User Experience (UX) Research & Design:
Conduct user research and analysis to understand user needs, behaviors, and goals. Develop user personas, journey maps, and user flows to inform design decisions. Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to improve the user experience. Apply UX principles to create intuitive and engaging interfaces that are easy to navigate and use.  Graphic Design & Visual Communication:
Create high-quality graphics, icons, and other visual elements to enhance the user experience. Maintain brand consistency across all digital assets. Ensure all visual elements are optimized for web performance. Develop infographics and other visual aids to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner. Accessibility:
Design websites and web applications that are accessible to users with disabilities, adhering to accessibility standards such as WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). Ensure all designs meet Section 508 compliance requirements. Conduct accessibility testing and remediation. Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate with developers, content creators, and stakeholders to ensure design aligns with project requirements and technical feasibility. Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders in a clear and persuasive manner. Gather and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine designs. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the project. Other Duties:
Stay abreast of the latest web design trends and technologies. Maintain a portfolio of design work. Contribute to the development of design guidelines and standards. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years experience with Associate's degree;
Minimum of 8 years experience with Bachelor's degree;
Minimum of 6 years experience with Master's degree;
Minimum of 3 years experience with PhD. A degree in one of these fields is highly desired:
Graphic Design, Web Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field. However, four years of additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree. Technical

Skills:

Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD). Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as AFPIMS, AWS, or similar.
