Relation Insurance Services seeks a Risk Advisor for its commercial lines team. The successful candidate will focus on new insurance account production, sales activities, and maintaining a profitable book of business.

What We’re Looking For

The Risk Advisor is responsible for new insurance account production and sales activities within assigned accounts. The individual conducts market research, develops a base of business to educate, promote and sell insurance services, keeps current on community activities to obtain leads, and maintains service for existing clients. The Risk Advisor projects a professional company image through all interactions with clients, carriers, co‑workers and others.

What

You’ll Be Doing
  • Achieve annual new revenue objectives through consultative sales to new clients and expansion of service lines to existing clients.
  • Exhibit thought leadership & industry engagement through associations, speaking panels and demonstrate expertise in selected industry verticals.
  • Develop an annual individual sales plan with a pipeline coverage ratio of 5X to meet goals.
  • Build an active pipeline of qualified prospects and generate leads from contacts, referrals and campaigns.
  • Document new business activity in Relation’s sales tracking system.
  • Appropriately close new business, documenting win/loss opportunities and reasons for all clients.
  • Develop and present recommendations to clients based on consultative selling.
  • Assess & identify risk issues, needs and potentially uninsurable exposures for clients.
  • Recommend and assist clients with technical services including loss control and claims advocacy.
  • Seamlessly transition sold clients to the designated client service/account management team.
  • Serve as a client’s valued advisor, building strategic relationships with key decision makers.
  • Communicate with leadership, providing field input on market trends, competitor analysis and business intelligence.
  • Possess a keen sense of humor, competitive drive and winning spirit.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
What You Need To Bring To The Table
  • Property and Casualty Insurance License required and must be maintained.
  • College degree or at least 2 years of sales experience in the insurance industry preferred.
  • Experience with complex commercial coverage.
  • Strong negotiator, problem solver, and able to work with diverse personalities.
  • In-depth understanding of insurance markets, products, underwriting procedures.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to explain complex coverages.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and computer literate with willingness to learn new software.
