Field Inventory and Reverse Logistics Manager

BD Nogales Norte is seeking an experienced Field Inventory and Reverse Logistics Manager who will manage spare parts inventory for the U.S. Service Region and lead reverse logistics operations for spare parts globally. The role focuses on inventory management, reverse logistics, and continuous improvement of processes to maximize recovery and minimize waste.

Job Summary

Duties & Responsibilities Inventory Management – U.S. Region
  • Design and implement a perpetual inventory system for field inventory, including regular cycle counts and biannual full stock audits.
  • Analyze audit results, execute system corrections, and prepare reports for management and finance in accordance with company policy.
  • Lead and mentor field teams on inventory processes, tools, and best practices to maintain high levels of accuracy.
  • Enhance communication channels with field teams to ensure smooth and effective audit execution.
Reverse Logistics – Global
  • Drive the global return process for repairable defective items, ensuring timely and cost‑effective handling.
  • Manage the international redeployment of excess inventory to optimize global stock levels.
  • Oversee the inspection and disposition of returned goods to maximize recovery and minimize waste.
  • Identify and reduce scrap and losses from unused materials through process improvements.
  • Investigate root causes of process gaps (e.g., missing identification) and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain departmental standards of performance and promote a safe working environment throughout the organization.

Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience in inventory management, focusing on field audits and team leadership.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and Service Max (or similar platforms).
  • Basic knowledge of medical device hardware and software cybersecurity rules in an FDA/ISO‑regulated environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Education & Experience
  • Professional certifications in materials management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP).
  • Hands‑on experience in global logistics and/or reverse supply chain operations.
