Instrument Test Technician 1 – Katalyst CRO
Position:
Instrument Test Technician 1 – Katalyst CRO. Join our team performing production assembly operations, instrument testing, and performance optimization. You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software issues, provide solutions, and act as a subject‑matter expert in instrument functional performance.
- Build, integrate, and understand the entire assembly process for instruments in the production area.
- Proficient on all test instructions for at least one moderately complex instrument, including functional and release testing.
- Analyze test results and data to determine pass/fail and provide solutions when a failure occurs.
- Optimize system performance solutions, including precision of movement and light systems, using pass/fail data.
- Identify defects and recommend design and process improvements.
- Read and understand drawings, work instructions, and maintain overall workmanship standards.
- Train associates on mechanical and testing activities as needed.
- Perform related production activities in compliance with regulatory requirements, safety, and quality policies.
- Work or interface with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing as required.
- Follow established GMP procedures and client policies for safety, housekeeping, and quality.
- Work overtime as required to meet client business requirements.
- Perform other duties as required.
- AA degree in mechatronics or relevant field with 0 years' experience or 5 years' experience in electrical, mechanical or software troubleshooting.
- Provide overall support for testing moderately complex instruments.
- Demonstrate leadership skills, mentoring, coaching, and development of associates.
- Accountable to results and continuous improvement across a team, work cell, or project.
- Strong commitment to Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) philosophies and active participation in CI projects.
- Fundamental knowledge of mechanical tools, torque drivers, gauges, bits, etc.
- Proficient at reading drawings, interpreting and measuring dimensions.
- Manage time across multiple production orders and processes within allotted time standards.
- Work effectively in a team setting to reach common goals.
- Understand and work within specified Quality procedures.
- Support Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) philosophies through active participation in CI projects.
- Complete tasks in support of achieving goals and improved performance.
- Effectively manage frequent assignment changes.
- Proficient in English, reading, writing, analyzing charts, following simple diagrams, and performing basic arithmetic.
- Basic proficiency with PCs and basic use of a Windows environment.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Use independent judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, troubleshoot, and problem solve in area set up, operations, and processes. Proven leadership ability and strong communication skills.
