Position: FABRICATION TECHNICIAN I with Security Clearance

fabrication technician i department: fabrication & modification reports to: fabrication & modification manager classification: non-exempt primary function: under direct supervision, the fabrication technician will fabricate parts and perform aircraft sheet metal and composite repairs. Duties/responsibilities:
* utilize detailed blueprints to layout pieces to be fabricated and installed.
* layout and fabricate aircraft parts such as ribs, stringers, doublers, etc. Using standard sheet metal and composite repair techniques and measuring tools such as calipers, dial calipers and scales.
* utilize fabrication machines including drill press, band saw, chop saw, bending breaks and shears.
* must be able to hold tolerances.
* perform other duties as are necessary and/or required.

Preferred qualifications:

* demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. Basic requirements:
* high school diploma with at least 0-2 years of experience
* ability to obtain security clearance physical requirements:
* must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times, more with assistance.
* work environment consists of various office and manufacturing settings with may have exposure to noise, varying temperatures, smells, and chemicals.
* ability to traverse manufacturing facility.
