The Manufacturing Operator is responsible for operating equipment, monitoring production processes, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Employees hired into this role will be trained and assigned to various production positions based on business needs, skill development, and operational requirements.
Manufacturing Operators play a critical role in producing high-quality products while complying with company safety, quality, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
- Perform equipment inspections and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMPs, and food safety requirements.
- Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or quality deviations to management.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.
- Assist with changeovers, startup, shutdown, and cleanup activities.
- Cross-train and perform duties in multiple production areas as needed.
Manufacturing Operators are expected to train and become qualified in one or more of the following positions:
- Bottle Operator
- Chicken Grinder Operator
- Cooker Operator
- Dryer Operator
Additional cross-training opportunities may be available based on operational needs and employee performance.
Qualifications Required- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
- Ability to work day or night shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
- Strong attention to safety and quality.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or food manufacturing experience.
- Experience operating industrial equipment.
- Forklift certification (if applicable).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, and reach.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot and cold production environments.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
This position works in a food manufacturing facility and may be exposed to:
- Production machinery and moving equipment
- Hot and cold environments
- Noise from manufacturing operations
- Food ingredients and processing materials
- Wet or slippery conditions
Employees are required to follow all company safety, food safety, and GMP policies.
Schedule and Benefits- Full-time position
- 12-hour shifts
- Three scheduled workdays per week
- Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
