The Head of Corporate Communications is responsible for shaping, articulating and amplifying Ravens business narratives through both owned and earned media outlets. Sitting within the Marketing Department, and working in close collaboration with the Communications and Media teams, this individual will play a critical role in crafting the organization's voice for non‑football initiatives, coordinating message strategy and driving storytelling around business growth, fan experience, community engagement, sponsor ships, and culture to elevate the Ravens brand locally, nationally and in select international markets.

The role requires building relationships with internal stakeholders, external business‑focused media, influencers, in partnership with internal resources, and government affairs personnel, assisting in managing crisis communications, while measuring the impact of all communication initiatives. Working largely independently but in close step with internal stakeholders is a key to success in this newly created role.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic communicator who thrives at the intersection of marketing, PR, and brand strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Communications Planning:
    Develop and execute an integrated corporate communications strategy that supports the organization's business goals, marketing objectives, and brand strategy. Align with Brand & Advertising team's promotion schedule and coordinate with Marketing, Corporate Partnerships, Ticketing, Corporate Partnerships, Community Relations and Communications staff to determine priorities and ensure timely and consistent messaging across owned and external platforms.
  • Story Creation:
    Lead the creation of compelling business‑focused narratives highlighting the team's business impact, brand initiatives, fan engagement efforts, fan experience, events and corporate partnerships. Work with Brand & Advertising team to develop collateral materials; write and edit press releases, articles, media advisories, speeches, and other high‑level communications materials. Organize underlying data to support those narratives.
  • Media and Public Relations:
    Collaborate closely with the Communications team to manage media outreach for business‑related stories, sponsorship announcements, events, and organizational milestones. Oversee business media relations, manage inquiries, cultivate relationships with media outlets, journalists and other key media contacts, and proactively secure coverage of organizational initiatives. Serve as a spokesperson when needed and coordinate media appearances for appropriate executives and personnel when appropriate.

    Work with internal stakeholders to stage press conferences and media events as warranted.
  • Executive Communications:
    Act as a trusted advisor and partner to senior executives, managing their overall business messaging, and developing their media presence by crafting talking points, speeches, and key messages for public appearances and media opportunities.
  • Digital Communications:
    Partner with Ravens Media to determine what digital channels will best support campaigns and initiatives. Where appropriate, develop articles, social media content, and other digital communications to support those campaigns and initiatives. Work together on strategic business communications plans and activations.
  • Crisis management:
    Be prepared to support the Communications team as needed to respond to crises and challenging situations professionally and quickly.
  • Team leadership/Management:
    Lead and manage the business communications function, build cross‑functional teams for support and work with external agencies when needed. Lead internal staff meetings with stakeholders to develop communications plans and content. Participate in cross‑functional collaboration meetings to ensure communications needs/strategies/plans are aligned.
