The Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation (DOCR) is a civilian agency managed by professionals in the correctional field. To protect the public and citizens of Montgomery County by providing a wide range of constructive, professional correctional services for pretrial and convicted detainees. The medical staff at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility (MCCF) and Montgomery County Detention Center (MCDC) provide medical care and services to all incarcerated inmates in compliance with recognized health care, legal, and correctional standards.
The facilities are accredited by the Maryland Commission on Correctional Standards (MCCS), the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC), and the American Correctional Association (ACA). Both facilities are staffed with nurses 24 hours a day and 7 days per week. Physicians and nurse practitioners provide on-site evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions.

Position may be located at either the Montgomery County Correctional Facility (MCCF) in Boyds, Maryland or at the Montgomery County Detention Center (MCDC) in Rockville, Maryland, depending upon the area of specialty/interest and the needs of the Department.
Who We Are Looking For
This recruitment is for part-time, temporary pool/substitute Correctional Health Nurse II positions only (no benefits).
Depending upon years of experience will determine if the Part-time rate of pay begins at $49.84 per hour .
The facility is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day, some evenings, weekends and holidays are required.

Prior to appointment, all applicants must successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation, psychological evaluation, medical examination, and drug/alcohol screen. Prior to a promotional appointment within DOCR, the selected individual must answer the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) questions and submit to a criminal history to comply with the Prevention Planning on Hiring and Promotion Decisions (115.17, 115.117, 115.217, 115.317). This is a requirement to meet Federal law and audit standards.
What You'll Be Doing
This is full performance level professional nursing performed in the correctional environment. Work encompasses the entire clinical nursing process from planning and intake through discharge into the community (primary care, chronic care, case management, emergency triage, emergency services and infirmary nursing, including health promotion and disease prevention).
