• Current RN or LPN license in Maryland, or multistate license
• Current First Aid or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR/BLS) certification
• Prior professional nursing experience, preferably in school and/or pediatric nursing.
• Must have the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions;
• May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required.

Contract through the 2025/2026 school year – 30 hours per week. Contract follows the academic district calendar.

• Provide direct, individualized nursing care to a specific student with medical needs throughout the school day.
• Monitor and manage the student’s chronic health conditions (e.g., diabetes, seizures, respiratory issues, tracheostomy care).
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to the student’s medical care plan (IEP/504 or IHCP).
• Perform skilled nursing procedures (e.g., suctioning, tube feedings, catheterization) as required.
• Monitor and document the student’s health status and report any changes or concerns to parents, school administration, and healthcare providers.
• Ensure the student’s safety during transport on the school bus (if applicable), including carrying emergency medications and supplies.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, following appropriate emergency protocols (e.g., CPR, seizure response).
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and the student’s healthcare team to support their educational participation and well-being.
• Maintain accurate, confidential health records and daily nursing documentation.
• Educate school staff (when appropriate) on the student’s health needs and emergency procedures.

$1,350-$1,500 per week.
