Who We AreThe Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation is a civilian agency managed by professionals in the correctional field. The facilities are accredited by the Maryland Commission on Correctional Standards (MCCS), the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC), and the American Correctional Association (ACA). Both facilities are staffed with nurses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and physicians and nurse practitioners provide on‑site evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions.
The Department seeks candidates for Correctional Health Nurses (CHN) I and II, which are registered nurses to work full‑time at either the Montgomery County Correctional Facility (MCCF) in Boyds, Maryland, or at the Montgomery County Detention Center (MCDC) in Rockville, Maryland, depending on area of specialty/interest and departmental needs. The selected candidate will be considered an “Essential Employee.” Essential employees must report to work during periods of general emergency or liberal leave.
