Job Summary

The Scientist will contribute to the design, development, and execution of scientific experiments and studies to support product development and research initiatives within Becton, Dickinson & Company (BD). This role involves laboratory work, data analysis, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to advance BD's mission of advancing the world of health.

• Execute laboratory experiments, including bacterial, yeast, and fungi culture, following established protocols and good laboratory practices.
• Accurately record, analyze, and interpret experimental data, maintaining detailed laboratory notebooks and documentation.
• Contribute to the design and optimization of experimental protocols and methodologies.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
• Prepare reagents, solutions, and other materials necessary for experimental procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, and presentations of experimental findings.
• Collaborate effectively with senior scientists, engineers, and other team members on various projects.
• Participate in troubleshooting experimental issues and developing solutions.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
• Stay informed of scientific literature and advancements relevant to assigned projects.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Microbiology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related field).
• 0–2 years of laboratory experience, including work with microorganisms (bacterial, yeast, and fungal cultures).
• Experience handling biological specimens, including blood, in accordance with safety protocols.
• Hands‑on proficiency with standard laboratory techniques (pipetting, sterile technique, solution preparation).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Problem‑solving skills.
• Commitment to quality and safety in the laboratory.
• Full‑time, onsite position: employees are expected to work onsite five days per week.

• Industry setting or academic research experience.
• Proficiency in data‑analysis software (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Minitab).
• Experience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proactive approach to challenges.

Annual salary range: $73,300.00 – $ USD.
