Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Deli Manager to oversee the daily operations of our deli department. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, a commitment to quality, and the ability to maintain efficient and compliant food service operations in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise all deli department operations to ensure exceptional product quality, service standards, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage the full ordering and inventory process, ensuring appropriate stock levels and minimizing waste.
  • Lead the development, planning, and execution of deli menu offerings, including seasonal and specialty items.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate deli staff to maintain a high‑performing, cohesive team.
  • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and smooth department workflow.
  • Enforce all health, safety, and food handling regulations in compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Maintain proper sanitation, organization, and equipment upkeep across the deli department.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism to support a positive customer experience.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in deli management, food service supervision, or related leadership roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while upholding high standards of quality and service.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and basic point‑of‑sale systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs as needed.
  • Capability to work safely with deli equipment, including slicers and knives.
Compensation, Schedule & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $24–$28, based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule:

Full‑time; availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
