Meat Cutter-Eldersburg

Main Responsibilities

• Delight our customers to meet or exceed customer experience goals.
• Comply with established Weights and Measures, health and sanitation and safety policies and procedures.
• Use equipment, including knives, power saws, grinders and other meat processing machinery to cut, trim and prepare meat products, minimizing waste wherever possible.
• Weigh, package and label meat and poultry items for display.
• Promote sales within the department.
• Remove fresh, frozen, and prepackaged meats from storage coolers and freezers and display in meat department display cases.
• Inspect displayed product for expired dates and remove when necessary.
• Take special orders from customers and provide special cuts.
• Maintain cleanliness in area and conduct business in accordance with all federal, state, and local food/safety regulations.
• Perform daily temperature and tare checks in accordance with division guidelines.
• Perform all job duties safely, accurately, with honesty and integrity.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 75 lbs.
• Frequent or continuous standing, walking, reaching, bending, stooping.

• You are 18 years of age or older.
• Knowledge of all the different cuts of meat (must pass Block Test).
• Proficiency with stocking, rotation, and food safety procedures.

Pay transparency:
Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits include healthcare, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).
