Salary Range: $146,000 – $173,000 (USD)
Compensation excludes discretionary bonuses and benefits. Final offer may vary based on experience, education, location, and skill level.

A secure-cleared opportunity is available for an experienced Database Engineer (Level
3) to lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of complex database systems. This position supports high-impact mission systems with a focus on scalable data infrastructure, microservices development, and integration with frontend applications.

• Design and implement database architecture to support mission-critical applications

• Lead the development of database structures, data parsers, and database loading mechanisms

• Develop and maintain backend services and ReSTful endpoints using Python frameworks (Django, Flask)

• Support data model management and integration with frontend interfaces via JSON

• Maintain and optimize databases including Maria
  
  DB, Mongo
  
  DB, and PostgreSQL

• Create and refine workflows to improve or replace existing processes

• Resolve break/fix issues and ensure database reliability and scalability

• Deploy and maintain solutions in cloud environments such as AWS or C2S

• Collaborate with Agile development teams using modern Dev Ops tools and practices

• Extensive hands‑on experience with Mongo

  DB (deployment, management, performance tuning)

• Proficiency with Python, and frameworks such as Django or Flask

• Strong understanding of ReSTful API development and microservices architecture

• Familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI for API documentation

• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, C2S, or similar)

• Proficiency with Docker and containerization workflows

• Development tools including Visual Studio Code, Jira, Confluence, and Git

• Data interchange and serialization formats such as JSON and XML

• Prior experience in Agile software development environments

• 10+ years of relevant experience with a technical degree

• 15+ years of relevant experience without a technical degree

• Must have an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph

• Leading database engineering efforts in secure, mission‑focused environments

• Supporting full‑stack development teams with data infrastructure needs

• Automating database deployment and testing pipelines

• Integrating databases into cloud‑native application stacks
