Senior AWS Application Architect; AI & Agentic Systems

Contract to Hire position - W2 Candidates Only Please

INSPYR Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior AWS Application Architect (AI & Agentic Systems) to support a large-scale cloud-native application development initiative for one of our clients. This individual will play a key role in designing scalable, secure, and modern enterprise applications on AWS while helping incorporate emerging AI capabilities into the broader technology environment. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded AWS Application or Solutions Architect with deep experience in cloud-native application architecture, microservices, Kubernetes/EKS, and distributed systems, along with practical experience designing agentic AI solutions using Amazon Bedrock Agent Core.

This role requires a strong foundation in traditional application architecture combined with the ability to architect and integrate AI-driven solutions.

• Design and architect scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications on AWS.
• Develop application architecture strategies leveraging microservices, APIs, containerization, and distributed systems.
• Provide architectural direction for applications deployed using Amazon EKS/Kubernetes.
• Establish application design patterns, architectural standards, and cloud best practices.
• Evaluate architectural trade-offs involving performance, scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Design and integrate agentic AI solutions using Amazon Bedrock Agent Core and related AWS technologies.
• Collaborate with software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and AI development teams to translate architectural designs into production-ready solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance across application development initiatives.
• Support the integration of AI capabilities into existing and newly developed enterprise applications.
• Partner with senior technical leadership on architectural decisions and technology strategy.

• Extensive experience designing and architecting enterprise-scale applications on AWS.
• Strong background in cloud-native application architecture, including microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on architectural experience with Amazon EKS, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.
• Demonstrated experience designing complex applications, including application components, integrations, and service-to-service communication.
• Practical experience with Amazon Bedrock Agent Core
  , including the design or implementation of agentic AI solutions.
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud architecture, security, scalability, and reliability best practices.
• Experience collaborating with software development teams and providing technical architectural guidance.
• Ability to work independently, make architectural decisions, and communicate effectively with technical stakeholders.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification.
• Experience with Go/Golang and Python

• Familiarity with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience with Amazon Bedrock, RAG, AI agents, and agent orchestration frameworks.
• Familiarity with Lang Graph, MCP, Strands Agents SDK, or similar technologies.
• Experience designing SaaS applications or large-scale enterprise platforms.
• Experience with greenfield application development or application modernization initiatives.
• Experience mentoring developers and guiding architectural decisions across engineering teams.

This position is primarily remote, with onsite collaboration required approximately one week per month in the Baltimore, Maryland area. Travel will be scheduled in advance. Candidates located within reasonable driving distance are preferred, although candidates outside the area may be considered.
