What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Relevant SEN or teaching assistant L3 qualification
  • Good standard of general education (GCSEs or equivalent in English and maths)
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEN, including autism, SEMH, and/or learning difficulties
  • Experience supporting sensory and communication needs
  • Experience of positive behaviour management
  • Experience supporting differentiated planning and the delivery of interventions
  • Ability to adapt resources and teaching methods to meet individual needs
  • Good understanding of SEN strategies and approaches
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Good organisational and record keeping skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding and equal opportunities procedures and responsibilities
  • Committed to supporting the learning and wellbeing of pupils
  • Able to engage and motivate pupils with varying needs
  • Professional, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude
