General StatementThe Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church and the ultimate goal of all programs is a spiritual regeneration of all people.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Follow procedure as it pertains to sorting, cleaning, preparing, shipping and receiving donated items for sale
- Keep donation area clean and without debris
- Sort donations of clothing, furniture, electrical and miscellaneous household items
- Load donations for truck delivery
- Adhere to all safety policies as it pertains to loading and unloading of trucks
- Follow all accident and injury reporting procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving and processing area
- Determine which items are saleable, repairable or salvageable
- Other duties as assigned
- Adhere to proper dress code, with uniform as designated by direct Supervisor
- High School diploma or General Education degree (GED), or one or two months of related job experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must complete and follow all safety training requirements provided by immediate Supervisor.
To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform the essential duties with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, bend, and stoop; frequently must walk, climb, and/or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include distance peripheral vision and depth perception.
