General Statement:
The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church and the ultimate goal of all programs is a spiritual regeneration of all people.
The Purpose of the Sorter/Donation Processor is to prepare donations for retail sale or salvage according to Salvation Army policy and production procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Follow procedure as it pertains to sorting, cleaning, preparing, shipping and receiving donated items for sale
- Keep donation area clean and without debris
- Sorting donations of clothing, furniture, electrical and miscellaneous household items
- Loading donations for truck delivery
- Adhere to all safety policies as it pertains to loading and unloading of trucks
- Follow all accident and injury reporting procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving and processing area
- Determine which items are saleable, repairable or salvageable
- Other duties as assigned
- Adhere to proper dress code, with uniform as designated by direct Supervisor
Educational Requirements:
High School diploma or GED, or one–two months of related job experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must complete and follow all safety training requirements provided by immediate Supervisor.

The employee is regularly required to lift, bend and stoop, walk, climb and/or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
