Test Engineer

This position is responsible for supporting and executing validation and testing procedures for automotive components (e.g., outer handles, door mirrors, kick sensors, charge port doors) at the Ohio R&D Center. The incumbent will perform hands‑on Design Verification (DV) and Production Verification (PV) testing, analyze test data, maintain laboratory equipment, and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports under the direction of senior engineering staff and management.

• Execute DV/PV testing on automotive electro‑mechanical components according to customer specifications, internal engineering standards, and industry guidelines.
• Set up test fixtures, environmental chambers, durability test rigs, and data acquisition systems.
• Monitor ongoing tests, log data, and identify test anomalies or product failures during execution.

• Collect, process, and analyze raw testing data using engineering software and tools.
• Prepare concise, high‑quality test reports documenting test conditions, setup, results, and root‑cause findings for internal review and customer presentation.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis for failures observed during validation testing.

• Assist in maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment and test instrumentation.
• Ensure a safe, organized, and clean laboratory working environment in compliance with company safety policies.

• Collaborate with R&D design engineers, quality assurance, and project managers to support project timelines and testing milestones.
• Communicate testing progress, bottlenecks, and results to direct manager and senior test engineers.

• Reports all irregular issues and problems to Management for solution.

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• 0 to 2 years of engineering experience (Internship or Co‑op experience in automotive engineering, testing, or laboratory environments is highly preferred).
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Hands‑on experience or familiarity with testing tools (e.g., environmental chambers, force/displacement sensors, multimeters, oscilloscopes, DAQ systems). Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Basic knowledge of CAD software (e.g., CATIA) or data analysis tools is a plus.
